Dr. Semlacher Bio
Dr. Roy A. Semlacher is a Canadian Board Certified Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon who has recently been recruited by the MultiCare Health System, as Medical Director for MultiCare Plastic Surgery Department, to bring his surgical expertise to the Pacific Northwest. After achieving his BS in Physics, Dr. Semlacher completed his medical school and internship at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Following extensive Cardiovascular and Thoracic surgical training, Dr. Semlacher completed his plastic surgery residency at the University of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
During this time he displayed the leadership qualities and technical proficiency to attain the prominent position of Chief Resident of Plastic Surgery (1994) and was awarded the Greg F. Rische Award for recognition of significant contributions in the field of burn treatment. He further refined his cosmetic surgical skills and experience by undertaking post-graduate cosmetic fellowship training in Southern California and Hawaii with world-renowned surgeons Dr. Connell and Dr. Flowers.
Dr. Semlacher specializes in cosmetic/aesthetic plastic surgery of the face and breast and abdomen. He leaves behind a thriving, 20-year private practice, in Sacramento, CA which was considered one of the premiere breast augmentation practices of Northern California. Patients traveled from all over North America and as far away as Mainland China, Japan, and South Korea to undergo breast enhancement procedures by Dr. Semlacher.
in the past, Dr. Semlacher was the Director and Chief of Plastic Surgery at Mercy San Juan Medical Center ( Level 2 trauma center) in Sacramento, an Associate Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at U.C. Davis as well as an Associate Clinical Professor at the California Northstate University College of Medicine. He has frequently been consulted with and featured on the radio and news along with numerous international presentations and publications.
Dr. Semlacher is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, the Canadian Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the Washington and California Medical Societies.
Dr. Semlacher’s office is located in Tacoma WA associated with the MultiCare Health System. He has admitting privileges at the MultiCare facilities as well as Mary Bridge Children’s Hospital and St. Joseph Hospital of the Franciscan System.
